A regional survey was undertaken to define the stratigraphic sequence on Ischia between ∼75 and 50 ka BP (Fig. 2).The succession has been pieced together from widely scattered outcrops around Ischia, Procida and Monte di Procida (SW Campi Flegrei, Fig. 1).The sequence is complex, but is stratigraphically most complete and most easily accessible on the southeast coast of Ischia (Fig. 3).
